Congratulations
to Michael and Joanne Sheavills on their wedding.
Saturday the 2nd of September 2006 was the date and the
venue was The Hall Garth Hotel near Darlington a lovely location for a truly delightful day.
We arrived at 9-30 on the Saturday morning amidst the hustle and bustle of preparations for
the ceremony, booked in and changed we joined the other guests.
12 o’clock all were waiting for the bride to appear. Michael handsome and relaxed
turned to see his bride approaching, what a beautiful sight Joanne was as she
walked on the arm of her uncle towards Michael to take his hand in marriage. The
ceremony was charming with the lighting of candles, one for each family. When
the vows had been taken the bride and groom lit a third candle to signify the
joining of the two families.
The register was then signed and photographs taken, various group photos were also
taken prior to everyone being seated to listen to the speeches.
We all enjoyed a very satisfying wedding breakfast until late afternoon.
Joanne had a wonderful surprise, Mike took her outside to give her his wedding present;
there stood a lovely blue MX5. It was really something to see Joanne climbing
into her new car wedding dress and all and wiping a tear of happiness away.
The evening entertainment started at around 7 o’clock with a group singing with
guitars and also three girls singing many popular songs and changing dress
several times during their act (they appeared on “X” Factor) to keep the
entertainment going there was also a Disco.
Everyone had a wonderful time, Joanne was still dancing at 12.30 when Doris and I went to
bed, we learnt on Sunday morning that the last revellers went to bed around
3.30; Joanne and Michael were amongst them.
Tuesday 5th September Michael and Joanne set out for a drive to the airport to fly away to
the sun on their honeymoon, as you read this they will be in the Maldives enjoying the sunshine and lovely blue seas.
