SCOTTISH TRIP 2007
Following my discussions with Michael Sheavills I
have decided to try and organise a small trip up in this area which would give
people either in the area or people who want to see Scotland for a change.
This is to be a long weekend with stop overs on 15th and 16th September 2007.
I would also help with accommodation for people travelling up on the Friday and staying over
I have attached the thread I have put on the IMOC site so that you can see the details I have arranged.
I have a hotel in Ullapool where we can book up to 10-11 rooms and the Travel Lodge in Inverness
which people can book on line.
I will restrict the numbers to around 20 as this
is my first attempt at this and it should be plenty (Hopefully I can get that many to come??)
I have also dropped Jo an Email to let her know what I am doing.
If possible can you put something on the
site to let people know about this and ask them to email me if interested on
shaneandsusan@tiscali.co.uk or telephone me on 07917806715.
Hi Folks
Have now done a bit more work on arranging our Highlands trip and as
promised can provide a bit more detail.
The proposed trip is as follows.
Leave Huntly, Aberdeenshire on Saturday 15th September 2007 at around 8-9am
Sunday 17 September 2007
On monday we can then go our own ways. For the people traveling south
you can take the A9 from Inverness straight to Perth and on down south.
PLEASE CONTACT ME VIA PM OR ON EMAIL
shaneandsusan@tiscali.co.uk
SHOULD YOU WISH TO COME ALONG I CAN CONFIRM HOW TO BOOK ACCOMODATION.
I have also linked to details of a similar trip I did last year.

If people require accommodation on the Friday as some may come quite a distance then I will help you with this.
Provisional Bookings so far:
Let me have your details as soon as you can and we can get this
arranged. This would be something to look forward to at the end of the summer season.
Heading up through Dufftown, Aberlour to Aviemore, then we will head to
Inverness and up to Ullapool for the Saturday night stop over.
I have spoken to the Royal Hotel in Ullapool who have about 10-12 rooms
they can offer. http://www.royalhotel-ullapool.com
As you will see this provides off street parking which should keep the 2's safe.
The cost for accommodation with Scottish breakfast is around £35 per person.
Head off round the west coast of Scotland up to Tongue and then down
through the hills back via the Cromarty Firth to Inverness.
For people that can stay another night then we could use the Travel Lodge at Inverness.
http://www.travelodge.co.uk
This again provides car parking and at present offer rooms at £26
(This is for room only but if 2 this is only £13 each).
There is a traditional restaurant next to the Lodge where we can have
tea and a few drinks or we can venture into the Highland capital Inverness.
DUE TO THE SIZE OF THE HOTELS IN HIGHLANDS I WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO LIMIT
THE NUMBERS TO AROUND 10 - 12 CARS AS I CAN ONLY GET 10 ROOMS AT THE ONE HOTEL IN ULLAPOOL.
Please note the trip is around 500 miles over the 2 days but this will
be some of the best road for 2's and views will be great as long as we get the weather.
