SOUTH EAST PAST EVENTS

BROMLEY CARNIVAL - SUNDAY 29th AUGUST 2005

The alarm rudely awoke me at 6am. This is my usual routine as I always insist on getting up at silly o'clock so I can wash the car on the morning of the show. (The joys of having no garage!)

It was a glorious morning and the t-bar was out from 8am! I had a short drive through Maidstone town where I met my Dad at a local pub car park where he was waiting in his MK2 G LTD t-bar. We had a couple of MK2s going on the display just for a change!

We made our way up the M20 and A21 and met the other guys at the Rose and Crown car park just outside Bromley. At around 9:45 we drove in convoy to Norman Park. It is always a great sight, 9 MR2s, gleaming in the sunshine.

When we arrived at the show we realised that this event was going to be a lot smaller than we were used to, but never the less we set up our stand next to the Rover club as follows: 5 cars to the left of the gazebo and 4 cars to the right with the black mk2's on each end. It looked good, we were in fact the biggest club there!

It wasn't a busy show for us but we did have a bit of interest as always, some potential buyers as usual and a couple of ex-owners. The carnival included various attractions stalls, rides for the kids, music on the stage and of course the carnival itself headed by the Mayor.

To sum up we all had a really nice relaxing day in the sun and we all went home with a little bit of sunburn, whoops!

Many thanks to everyone that attended and also a special thanks goes to our budding photographer Sam Jackson (14) for supplying the event photos.
