AUTUMN NATIONAL RESTORATION SHOW, STONELEIGH, WARWICKSHIRE – SUNDAY 28th OCTOBER 2007
It’s ‘show-time’ again for the increasingly popular
‘Restoration Show’ at Stoneleigh. This
is an awesome indoor event which combines the show cars with real life
restoration projects, with all clubs being asked to perform some kind of
demonstration project on their stand. At
the last spring restoration show the club spirit went wild and took on massive
projects on 2 separate cars with a large ‘spannering’ team of volunteers
getting their hands truly dirty all for a good cause. One of the cars included the MR2 Only magazines’ MK1 track car project,
and the event featured in the MR2 Only magazine.
This restoration show, to keep things more ‘laid back’,
we aim to have 1 show car to demonstrate a great example of a MK1, and 1 project
car to show hands-on restoration or repair work. In this way the club can focus on 2 areas: promotion of the club with a
good display area and club representatives to chat to the public, and the
demonstration area with the project car in view and technical advisors available
to talk to interested visitors to the stand about any aspect of the MK1.
As usual, we will have a number of free entry passes
available to club members wishing to help out on the stand. As there is only 1 project car on the go, this will give club volunteers
ample time to wander around the show to get the most out of the event.
There will be a Restoration Show topic thread on the MK1 Club section of
the IMOC forum to arrange this event, so you can log your interest on there.
This will also be a source of up to date information, and you are also
welcome to contact me by email.
Hope to see you there!
