NORTH LINCS AREA REPORT - JUNE 2005

We meet with the existing Midlands and Yorks Classic Car Club on the 1st Sunday of every month at the Nags Head, Routh. Although trying to get another MR2 owner there other than Steve Raettig is like pulling teeth. I only turn up there myself now when I can.

NORTH LINCS AREA REPORT - MARCH 2005

Firstly, Happy New Year to you all. It may be a little late because by the time you read this we will be well on our way towards spring and another car and car show season, ‘Yippee’ as well as some sun, maybe!

Activity over the winter period has, as you would expect been limited. The highlight of the winter being the annual dinner and dance held in Loughborough. The following morning was a drive around the Charnwood area of Leicestershire gathering for lunch at Staunton Harold. A very, ‘big up’ to Fred and Doris for their sterling efforts in providing a most excellent and enjoyable weekend, thanks.

The North Lincs monthly gathering still takes place at the Nags Head near Routh at noon on the first Sunday of every month with the Classic Car Club, although I have missed the last two or three myself as I have had to work away from home. It would be nice to see another member there now and again.

I feel like a MR2 MK1 leper (can you say that nowadays in this PC world? If not can you take it out please Mr. Editor)

I look forward to seeing/talking to some of you during the coming ‘active season’. Anyone with any ideas/suggestions please feel free to call/text or mail me.

This Sunday March 28th is our first meet at 1pm at Willingham Woods. It's race day at nearby Market Rasen so it might be a little busy. I've been to a pub in Market Rasen 'The Aston' that serves food and they say it will be quieter towards 2pm as that's when the first race starts. So I suggest meet at Willingham Woods and then onto The Aston for drink or food which ever people want. See map below. The Red road through the woods is the A631. I will be in the woods main car park in a Black Ford Cougar not an MR2 as the wife say I can't spend any money on it till May. So I will be at the first local meet without my MR2. Go figure.
