RIPON CLASSIC CAR SHOW – SUNDAY 1st MAY 2005

The Ripon Classic is always welcomed as it is the first show of the new club season and a chance to get the MK1 out of the garage for the first time and give it a really good once over......!!

Sod’s law, it had been glorious weather all April and come show day it rained cats and dogs, luckily by mid morning the sun began to poke its head through the clouds and the long drying out process began. I wasn't amused as my car was soaking wet, now bear in mind it DOESN'T get wet even when its washed.....!

When we arrived Michael Sheavills was already there preparing the area and doing his usual club manager job. Also present were Phil Barker and wife, Steve and Andrea Raetigg, Peter Key and Ms. Johnson, Bob Pollock with his 'Senna' prepared MR2, Mark, Sharon and Rachel Richardson, Frogge and Selena, myself and wife Clare, Jim Leddin and a visit from the Ditchers, good to see you all.

As usual it was a great show with a vast variety of modern and vintage classics, a great day that was enjoyed by all.

My thanks to Michael Sheavills for once again co-ordinating the show and to all the members for their valued support, without you we don't have shows.

Hope to see as many members as possible at our next show which is the American 'Fins 'n' Chrome' on Sunday 29th May at Preston Park in Stockton.
